Commissioned to activate a 200-metre thoroughfare at WOMADelaide, InTension utilised LiDAR scanning to design a 2,000-square-metre shade solution within the sensitive environment of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. Navigating the site’s unique constraints—including heritage-listed trees, a protected bat colony, and a curvilinear roadway—we developed a non-invasive structural system using a hybrid of on-ground ballast and in-ground screws. The final result is a visually dynamic, annually deployable activation that seamlessly integrates festival branding while maintaining full roadway functionality.
